June 16 ~ Mounted Business Meeting
Bring your horses to this one! We will hold this month's business meeting at the Bridle Path
Arena in the Bridle Path subdivision in Spanish Springs. We will be conducting level testing at
this meeting. Bring your grooming tools if you're testing for Level I. Bring your lunge line if
you are testing for Level II. Please plan to be there around 5:00 or earlier to get your horse
warmed up. We'll start the testing at 5:30 with the written portion and then move into the
riding skills portion. We'll cover a bit of business if we have time.

June 26 ~ Sagebrush Community Horse Show

June 26 & 27 ~ Parelli Clinic
Licensed 3 Star Master Instructors Susan Nelson and Maurice Thibaut will be
hosting a 2 day clinic June 26th and June 27th. Auditors are welcome. 4-H
and youth groups can audit for free. Clinic will be held at The Farm at 19440
Annie Lane, Reno, NV 89521. For more information and registration please

July 9, 10 & 11 ~ Qualifying Show
This three day show will start with the Gymkhana classes on Friday afternoon, with the
English and Western classes on Saturday and Sunday. A blue ribbon in any class will qualify
you to compete at the Nevada State Expo in that class. The Qualifying Show will be held at the
Lemmon Valley arena and pre-registration is required. 4-H Dress is required and a snack bar
will be provided. More information to follow once it becomes available.
*Please note this is a date change from the previous date of July 16, 17 &18. The date was
changed to avoid a conflict with the 4-H camp date.

July 17 ~ Sagebrush Community Horse Show

July 18-24 ~ 4-H Summer Camp
Open to 4-H campers aged 9-12 to be held at the 4-H campground at beautiful Lake Tahoe.
More information to follow once it becomes available.

July 21 ~ Mounted Business Meeting

August 25-29 ~ Nevada State Fair

September 15 ~ Business Meeting
The September business meeting will be held at
Summit Christian Church in room 202 at 6:00.

September 18 ~ County Judging Contest
4-H'ers will have the opportunity to be the judges this time! Classes to include Tack I.D., Feed
I.D., two halter classes, two performance classes, and oral reasons. Check in begins at 7:30 and
the contest begins at 8:00. To be better prepared, bring a water, a clipboard, scratch paper to
take notes on, sunscreen and a lawn chair. A snack bar will be provided and 4-H dress is
required, including an equine helmet for close inspection of the horses. The Judging Contest is
a mandatory event if you'd like to achieve 100% attendance! Pre-registration is required so
please let your 4-H leader know if you'll be able to make it. More information to follow once it
becomes available.

October 9 ~ Autumn Antics
This Play Day Show, open to all riders and breeds of horses and mules, serves as a
Community Service Fund Raiser for the Silver Knolls Spurs 4-H Horse Club. The show will be
held at the Lemmon Valley Arena and starts at 9:00 a.m. There will be lots of fun games and
gymkhana classes for all ages. Ribbons will be awarded to 1st through 5th place plus a High
Point & Reserve High Point award. A snack bar will be provided all day. More information to
follow once it becomes available.

October 16 ~ Annual Endurance Ride
The Silver Knolls Spurs 4-H Club will be hosting their 21th Annual Endurance ride on
Saturday, October 16th. The 10 or 20 mile ride, open to all riders and breeds, will begin at the
Lemmon Valley Arena. The Mandatory Veterinary check is at 8:30 and the 20 mile ride will
begin at 9:30 and the 10 mile ride will begin at 10:00. Ride categories are: 5-10 years old,
11-13 years old, 14-17 years old and 18 years and older. Awards will be given for Completion,
Best Time, and Best Condition in each ride category. Entry fee ranges from $10-$25 per rider,
with a discount given to 4-H'ers. Lunch will be served at 1:00 and the award presentation will
be at 2:00. More information to follow once it becomes available.
